About the Central Colorado APA:

The American Poolplayers Association (APA) is the World's Largest Amateur Pool League with nearly 250,000 members through the United States, Canada and Japan.  Go to poolplayers.com for more information about the history of the APA. Talk to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. You'll find that they either play in the APA or know someone who does. It'll surprise you! Clerks, secretaries, janitors, lawyers, chiropractors, doctors, waitresses, truck drivers, bank tellers, and even school teachers ... all play pool in the APA Pool League. Over one fourth of APA members are female.  75% of APA members are beginner to intermediate players, meaning you don't have to be a Pool Pro to play. With the APA's Equalizer® Handicap System everyone has an equal chance of winning.

At the local level, Ron and Mimi Woolery owned and operated the league for over two decades.  Mimi passed away in 2007 and Ron passed away in 2011.  Their son, Joseph Woolery, who was introduced into the business as a youngster, took over operations completely after their passing until he sold the league in 2015 to Dennis Mersman.

Dennis has been a player in the league for over ten years.  He has a strong business background, great people skills, and an absolute passion for pool.  Dennis came in 3rd in the APA National Singles Championships as a skill level 7 in 2014.  He has also participated in the US Amateur Championships.  Throughout his tenure, Dennis grew the league from 167 standard 8&9 ball teams to a whopping 285 teams. In 2023, Dennis sold the league franchise to Brandy & Scott Caldwell.

Brandy & Scott Caldwell became passionate about league play in 2014.  Both, with very competitive spirits, decided to take on the challenge of becoming a league operator.  Upstanding and honest, their plans are to take CCOAPA to the next level!

Have fun!  Meet people!  Play pool!
